Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 6/4: More Lamb Please

Jake Lamb is proving to be a rare breed of player.
Jake Lamb is proving to be a rare breed of player.

I don't know if you can be any hotter than Jake Lamb is right now. He cranked out 4 more hits last night with a double, his 8th home run and 3 RBI. In his last 6 games he is 15 for 25 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, a home run, 9 RBI, 5 walks and just 1 strikeout. Only one player in the Southern League has better numbers than Lamb and that's super prospect Kris Bryant. Lamb is going to be in the Futures Game and then he's going to be joining the Diamondbacks as soon as they make room for him. He will be our starting third baseman next year. There...I said it.

AAA: Reno - Off Day

AA: Mobile 9 @ Chattanooga 4. It was the Jake Lamb show again, along with some help from his friends. Lamb destroyed Chattanooga in their 5-game series going 14 for 23 with 6 doubles, 2 triples and a homer. Dustin Martin and Gerson Montilla joined the hit parade with 5 hits of their own and 5 RBI. Justin Fitzgerald had a solid start allowing 2 runs over 6 innings on 5 hits and 3 walks. Ryan Court chipped in a pair of doubles and Sean Jamieson went 2 for 4 and scored twice.

A+: Visalia 2 @ Rancho Cucamonga 4. Jesse Darrah had a decent start going 6 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 3 walks. But the offense was not up to the task and could only produce 2 runs on 6 hits. Three of those hits came off the bat of Socrates Brito. Two others came from Fidel Pena.

A: South Bend 1 @ Lansing 6. The Silver Hawks have had a little trouble scoring runs lately with 3 of their last 5 games going for 1 run or less. Hector Hernadez started and could only get through 4 innings before allowing 6 runs, though just 3 were earned. Tom Jameson, Jake Roberts and Jose Jose were solid in relief with 4 scoreless innings. The offense had just 6 singles with 2 by Daniel Palka.
