Diamondbacks 1, Giants 4

Bolsinger threw 7.2 innings, holding a fairly potent Giants line-up to one run, on five hits and a walk, with four strikeouts. The run came in the fifth inning, as a one-out walk to Brandon Crawford came around to score on a double by Tyler Colvin, though the runner was trying to stretch the hit into a triple. Bolsinger left with two outs in the eighth, but Oliver Perez stranded the man on second, to complete a good day for our starter. Unfortunately, Evan Marshall and Joe Thatcher were unable to keep the game within one during the ninth, San Francisco scoring three runs on four hits..

It seemed largely unnecessary, as the Diamondbacks didn't look capable of scoring once this afternoon, never mind four times. The only hit we managed off Bumgarner before the ninth was a Cody Ross single, and he might have been out if the first baseman hadn't bobbled the throw. Our other base-runners against the Giants starter to that point were both Paul Goldschmidt, who reached base safely twice, on a pair of walks. The first two reached for us in the ninth, on an error and Ender Inciarte single, and Bumgarner was lifted. A Martin Prado single ended the shutout, but a Goldie double-play and Aaron Hill K gave the Giants victory.
