#Dbacks place Bronson Arroyo on 15-day DL with right elbow tendinitis and recall outfielder Roger Kieschnick from the Triple-A Reno @Aces.
— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) June 16, 2014
For the first time, after 369 career starts, Bronson Arroyo has been placed on the Disabled List. Arroyo was removed from yesterday's game against the Dodgers after five innings and 79 pitches, his velocity was way down (even by Arroyo standards) and there were quotes after the game that a DL stint was on the table, and here we are.
Bronson was 7-4 with a 4.08 ERA so far this season. In the corresponding move, Roger Kieschnick will be given his second tour with the Diamondbacks this year and he is starting tonight.
It is unknown what the team will do to replace Arroyo in the rotation going forward. A move could be made by the time his next scheduled start would have occurred. Internally, Randall Delgado could be impressed into starter service again.
