Reno reliever Matt Stites picked up his 7th consecutive save last night in the Aces 4-3 win. Since being promoted to Reno in early May Stites has made 9 appearances without allowing an earned run. In those 9 innings he's allowed 4 hits and 5 walks while striking out 9. He's done pretty much all he can do to earn a major league job, and if not for the current bullpen bloated with failed starters he would already be up. I expect it won't be long before we see him in a Diamondbacks uniform.

AAA: Reno 4 @ Las Vegas 3. Michael Bolsinger got off to a bumpy start allowing 3 runs in the first 2 innings, but he settled nicely after that getting through 6 innings without any further damage. That was good enough for the offense to put up a 4 spot in the top of the 7th that featured a 2-run homer by Alfredo Marte with 2 outs. Eury De La Rosa, Will Harris and Matt Stites put up 3 goose eggs to close it out. Marte went 2 for 3 with a walk and Mike Jacobs had a pair of doubles. Nick Ahmed went 2 for 5 with a double and has settled into the second spot in the order with some good production of late.
AA: Mobile 6 @ Chatanooga 7. The Bay Bears got behind 5-0 early on but came up with 6 runs in the 4th and 5th innings to take the lead. But the bullpen couldn't hold it as Blake Cooper and Patrick Schuster gave up the tying and winning runs. Michael Lee wasn't his best allowing 5 runs over 4 innings. Jake Lamb went 2 for 4 with a walk, a double and an RBI. Jon Griffin clubbed a bases-loaded double for 3 RBI and David Peralta went 2 for 4 with a double.
A+: Visalia 7 Lake Elsinore 9. The Rawhide jumped out to a 6-0 lead after 2 innings but starter Brandon Sinnery allowed 6 runs in the 3rd that tied the game. Brandon Drury homered in the 5th to give them a 7-6 lead but relievers Keith Hessler and Kyle Winkler got roughed up for 3 runs in the 8th that were the difference. Drury went 2 for 3 with a walk and 3 RBI to go along with his home run. Alex Glenn contributed a double, a triple and 3 RBI.
A: South Bend 1 Bowling Green 10. Starter Austin Platt has not been able to find his groove in 5 starts and last night was no different. He allowed 5 runs (3 earned) in 5+ innings. The bullpen was even worse allowing 5 more runs. The offense only managed 5 hits with 2 coming from Marty Herum.
