Quotables
When we got off the first two, three weeks, we weren't playing well … All the way around. We weren't hitting that well, we made the mistakes defensively. The pitching wasn't where the guys wanted it to be. This last two weeks, it's been a lot better. If you're playing good baseball, you're going to start getting some wins. How many? It doesn't mean you're necessarily going to win 10 in a row, but you've got to play well to win.
Oh, for sure, yea. They have some really, really good players, some talented players, some guys that are gamers. But they run things a little bit differently over there and I wish nothing but the best for them.

Putz's status as the clubhouse prankster if he'd been that way since he was a tyke — planting whoopee cushions in school, pouring salt in the sugar shaker at home or tying shoelaces together in the dugout with a toothy grin sprouting under a cloud of freckles.

Diamondbacks' moves create ripple effect through Minors | dbacks.com
It seemed like a pair of simple moves Tuesday when the D-backs placed reliever J.J. Putz on the 15-day disabled list, optioned starter Mike Bolsinger to Triple-A Reno and called up reliever Evan Marshall from Reno and starter Chase Anderson from Double-A Mobile. But the moves created a ripple effect throughout the D-backs' farm system that had player development director Mike Bell and his staff working overtime.
