Summing up our 2014 season
"Every contestant is a winner" they announce for Kachingko before this night's contestant's piece gets stuck before hitting a prize.

RossTwittergate
If you missed it, bit of a spat broke out between D-backs outfielder Cody Ross and local sports radio host, John Gambadoro, after Ross misplayed a ball in the 9th inning of our 5-4 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. Here's how it started:
@Gambo987 how are you gonna ask me for signed gear for your charity events then bury me on twitter? Thats cool.
— Cody Ross (@IamCodyRoss) May 1, 2014
Gambo was not taking that lying down:
@IamCodyRoss so getting you to sign an item in 2010 for families of fallen firefighter/police officers gets you exclusion from criticism. OK
— John Gambadoro (@Gambo987) May 1, 2014
I believe he also talked subsequently on his show about a text he says Ross sent him. To be honest, I don't think either side came out smelling of roses on this one. Gambadoro's original Tweet was fair comment and didn't deserve the reaction. But he could still have taken the high ground and just moved on, instead of creating A Thing out of it. On the other end, I'm fairly sure Derrick Hall will take Ross aside for some 1-on-1 Twitter tuition...
Welcome to the majors
It's always entertaining to check out the reactions, when one of our minor-league players gets their first call-up to the show. The latest was Evan Marshall last night, and there were plenty of congratulatory messages on Twitter: It's particularly fun when his wife gets all mock-offended by the fuss...
@JRawk33 @emarsh31 the fact that you aren't even following the bride says something Jared Moore #imnotthatcool

My boy @1MoneyMike1 caught a warm up ball from Geraldo Parra at the @Dbacks game and gives it to a kid. Then gets the hat tip from Parra.

Studies show that the DBacks start horribly in seasons that start in Sydney & Collmenter doesn't pick me in the Win a Date contest #science

Watching Parra run the bases is like watching Cody Ross make a well reasoned twitter argument. #dbacks

Sorry, I was otherwise engaged and forgot to have my Twitter trawl tab open. Insert random comments about our bullpen costing us another game here.

I shall name the small village the #dbacks stranded on the bases tonight Diamondbackville. #LongTownNames #brewers

It's okay, the dbacks are now the second worst team in baseball by .001

Twitter question of the week
Question for this edition of Tweets of the Week: If you were made D-backs GM tomorrow, what would your first move be?
— AZ SnakePit (@AZSnakepit) May 6, 2014
Answers: Sensible sub-division
@AZSnakepit trade Didi for a pitcher/pitching.
— Paul (@paulvcalabrese) May 6, 2014
@AZSnakepit Pattern an offense like the Rockies.
— Coyote22 (@_Coyotes22) May 6, 2014
@AZSnakepit ask Towers politely to get out of my office. Then start the hiring process for an actual analytics department.
— Ryan P. Morrison (@InsidetheZona) May 6, 2014
@AZSnakepit release Cody Ross, bring up some young pitchers
— Tim Metzer (@HOF598) May 6, 2014
Answers: Double tap sub-division
@AZSnakepit Fire Kevin Towers!
— Jill Schroeder (@JillSchroeder11) May 6, 2014
Well, since you have just been made GM, that would kinda imply he had already been fired. On the other hand, absolutely no harm in being safe and doing it twice. And Jill wasn't the only one who wanted to be certain...
@AZSnakepit make sure KT turns in his keys, and mail him his last check.
— jim bishop (@MrMrrbi) May 6, 2014
Answers: Not sensible at all but probably more fun sub-division
@AZSnakepit skin Baxter
