South Bend's Joe Munoz had a monster game hitting 4 doubles and scoring 4 runs.
South Bend's Joe Munoz had a monster game hitting 4 doubles and scoring 4 runs.

As poorly as everything went Saturday night, Sunday was the polar opposite with all four teams winning in blowouts. The four affiliates scored a total of 52 runs on 63 hits including 6 home runs, 19 doubles and 2 triples. We're going to give out some extra stars to give some of the big performances their proper due.

Snake Stars
5 Stars: Joe Munoz, South Bend 4 for 6, 4 R, 4 DBL, 1 RBI
4 Stars: Nick Evans, Reno 3 for 5, 2 R, 2 HR (9), 4 RBI
3 Stars: Sean Jamieson, Visalia 4 for 5, 1 R, 3 DBL, 2 RBI
2 Stars: Brandon Sinnery, Visalia 7 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 9 K, 2 R, 1 ER
1 Star: Alex Glenn, Visalia 3 for 5, 2 R, 1 HR (6), 2 RBI
0 Stars: Rudy Flores, Visalia 0 for 5, 4 K

Triple A: Reno 19 @ Salt Lake 4. After getting smoked Friday and Saturday night the Aces turned the tables on Salt Lake with a 19-4 pasting. The offense cranked out 20 hits that included a 10-run outburst in the 6th. Nick Evans continued his hot hitting with 3 hits including 2 home runs that accounted for 4 RBI. Andy Marte had 4 hits with a double and 2 RBI as he was cheated out of some snake stars. Mike Jacobs went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI while Tony Campana went 3 for 6 with 2 RBI and a stolen base. Randy Wolf started and was the model of mediocrity again, though to be fair mediocrity in this weekend's series might quality for excellence. Wolf allowed 4 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks in 5+ innings while striking out 5 to improve to 4-1. I mention the gaudy W-L record because it seems like the kind of stat our management will point out to justify his call up.

Double A: Mobile 8 @ Birmingham 3. The Mobile offense managed just 8 runs on 14 hits with Sean Jamieson leading the way with 3 doubles and 2 RBI. Garrett Webber went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI while Jake Lamb went 2 for 4 with an RBI and David Peralta hit a 2-run homer. Bradin Hagens got the start and tossed 4 shutout innings before being removed for pitch count as he seems to be getting stretched out to take on a starter's role again.

High A: Visalia 9 @ High Desert 3. Brandon Sinnery was superb in one of the most difficult parks for pitching with 7 strong innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and a walk with 9 strikeouts. The offense racked up 13 hits with Alex Glenn the star going 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI. Brandon Drury went 2 for 4 and hit his 7th home run while Socrates Brito went 2 for 5 with a triple and 3 RBI.

A: South Bend 16 @ Fort Wayne 2. South Bend made a laugher of this one early on with 15 runs in the first 4 innings. Joe Munoz had a monster night with 4 doubles and 4 runs scored. Daniel Palka had 2 doubles and 3 RBI while Zach Esquerra had 2 doubles and 2 RBI. George Roberts added a 2-run homer. Adam Miller started and had a fine game going 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks.
