AZ SnakePit 4, Trail-Hitters 5
The ESPN Game lived up to expectations, Trail withstanding a late comeback from AZ, who fell one W short. Gattis and Stanton each homered twice for Snake, with the Hitters saw seven Runs apiece scored by Altuve and Jones. Kennedy (AZ) got a W+12 K; Minor (Trail) had one strikeout less.
Gregorius B.I.G. 5, CGS 3
Hitting was split, with no-one having more than one HR; Reyes (CGS) had five SB and five R. Wins were hard to come by two, each side managing one (Bailey and Darvish respectively), but Gregorius's better ERA of 2.70 was key. Ross struck out eight for them; Paralta had 10 K for CGS.
Sofa King Juiced 2, Disabled Waffles 7
Despite piling up 61 K's - Tanaka got 13 and a W - Sofa's pitching struggled to a 5.31 ERA, compared to Waffles' 2.17. The winners got a W + a Save from Cishek, but really shined at the plate, where co-Hitter of the Week Cruz had four HR and nine R. Cabrera also scored five R, with two HR.
MyWieterGetzLongoria 4. Trumboner 6
Trumboner benefit from co-Hitter of the Week Davis (four HR, 10 RBI), but it was close, with Beltre and Choo each giving Wieter two HR and seven R. They also had a great week from Teheran (two W, 16 K), with Fister also winning two, but Bumgarner (W + 16 K) allowed Trumboner to hold on.
Mizzoula Osprey 3, Alabama Slammers 7
A sweep of pitching behind Keuchel (two W, 14 K) and Beckett (two W, 12 K) allowed Alabama to overpower the Osprey, despite Bauer's W + 13 K. The Slammers' offense was powered by Pence (three HR, seven R), with two HR by Martinez. Mizzoula got five HR and nine RBI from Encarnacion.
Got Grittiness? 4, Angry Saguaro 6
Ozuna gave Got three HR and nine RBI, but Angry responded with two HR and seven RBI from Ramirez, with Cuddyer also homering twice. Key was Pitcher of the Week Wainwright, who had an amazing round: two W, 21 K, 0 ERA for the Saguaro. They also got four Saves from Janssen.
The Rusty Trumbones 4 Space Wizard 5
Wizard squeaked past the Trombones after HR ended tied; Sandoval had three of those for Space, matched by Upton for Rusty. Trout had two HR and six RBI for the winners. The Trombones fought back on the mound, with Kluber getting a W + 17 K, but Strasburg fanned 11 and Wizard held on.
