Los Angeles struck first on a homer in the opening inning by Hanley Ramirez, but Arizona responded in the second, courtesy of an error by the same. Another home-run, this one a two-run shot off the bat of Adrian Gonzalez made it 3-1 to the Dodgers, only for the Diamondbacks to respond with an RBI single by Chris Owings in the third, and a solo home-run by Cody Ross, his first of the year, to tie things up in the fourth. Another long-ball, this one off the bat of Eric Chavez in the bottom of the fifth, also scored Owings and gave the Diamnndbacks their first lead, and we held on from there to take the game and the series.
Josh Collmenter got the W, going 5.1 innings and allowing three runs on only four hits, mostly because two of those didn't come back. He also walked two and struck out three. The bullpen combined for 3.2 scoreless, though Brad Ziegler left them loaded in the eighth - he also hit Y*s**l P**g, so we'll give him a pass. It was a good day for the young guys in the line-up, with Owings and A.J. Pollock each getting three hits, and Ross had two, including his homer, as the Diamondbacks outhit the Dodgers 11-7 in total.
There's an off-day tomorrow, before we start another road-trip, this one going to St. Louis and New York, where we'll face the Mets. azshadowwalker should be along with the recap in a bit, so see you there!
