Triple A: Reno 7 Fresno 2. Charles Brewer finally had a decent outing pitching 7 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and a walk. To show how bad he's been that lowered his ERA to 6.12. Nick Evans pounded the ball some more going 4 for 5 with a double. Roger Kieschnick also had a good night going 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Aaron Cunningham went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI and Bobby Wilson hit a solo home run. Nick Ahmed had 2 hits and raised his average to .292 and his OPS to .713.

Double A: Game 2. Mobile 3 @ Jacksonville 1.This was the continuation of the game started on Sunday that was delayed after 1 inning. Mark Searrano took the ball and gave the team 5 solid innings of one-run ball. The bullpen followed with 3 shutout innings on 2 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts. Jimmie Sherfy pitched into a bases-loaded jam in the 8th but got out of it with a strikeout, his second of the inning. Jake Barrett pitched the 9th allowing a walk and striking out 2. The offense scratched out 3 runs led by Jake Lamb who went 2 for 4 with a double.

Double A: Game 2. Mobile 9 @ Jacksonville 6. This one was mostly over when the Bay Bears exploded for 8 runs in the 4th inning. Gerson Montilla and Tom Belza led the way with 2 hits, a double and 3 RBI each. Jake Lamb went 2 for 4. Justin Fitzgerald got the win despite a so-so outing allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks. Kaleb Fleck earned his first save with a shutout 9th inning.

High A: Visalia - Travel Day

A: South Bend 3 @ Dayton 6. A pitching meltdown in the 7th inning turned a 3-1 lead into a 6-3 deficit. Blake Perry cruised through the first 6 innings allowing just 1 run on 1 hit. But he led off the 7th with a hit batter and a single and he was yanked. in favor of Jake Roberts. Roberts walks the first batter to load the bases, then strikes out the next two looking to escape the damage. But he walked in 1 run then served up a grand slam to ruin the game. George Roberts, Michael Perez and Chuck Taylor each had 2 hits while Joe Munoz smashed a 2-run homer in the first, his 5th of the year. Stryker Trahan went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts. Dude is really scuffling right now and might need a little time off.
