Quick Quotes

"Those guys have been great, they've been pros, they take the ball," Gibson said. "On my part, though, I get concerned about what their future is and how long we can continue to do this. Because we count on them and if we continue to push them, we're not going to be able to count on them because they're going to break down."

-Kirk Gibson on the Diamondback Bullpen

"I was trying to do a little too much on the first couple of swings, and the third one was the charm," Montero said. "It's a funny game."

-Miguel Montero

"When you give the pitcher a tough time, they know that and your teammates respect that. I hope they respect that every time I go there, I want to step up for my team."

-Martin Prado

Diamondbacks Rally Walks Off in Extras

The Arizona Diamondbacks were able to do precious little against Jordan Lyles, the young starter from the Colorado Rockies, who even managed to help his own cause by tagging Josh Collmenter for a home run in the third inning. But Collmenter eventually settled in and the Diamondbacks hung tight to take advantage of the Rockies' bullpen. Martin Prado came through with a clutch hit in the bottom of the ninth to tie things up. Then Miguel Montero hit the first walk-off homer of his career when he deposited a 1-2 pitch in the right field seats to cap the comeback.
