The Dbacks minor league teams went 1-3 last night with 6 total runs scored in the four games on just 18 hits. The pitching was quite good though not good enough to overcome that kind of meager offense. Charles Brewer went 5 innings allowing 1 run for Reno; Michael Lee allowed 2 runs in 6 innings for Mobile; Spencer Arroyo allowed 3 runs in 6 innings for Visalia; and Adam Miller tossed 5.2 shutout innings for South Bend.

3 Stars: Adam Miller, South Bend 5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 7 K, 0 ER, W (1-0)
2 Stars: Charles Brewer, Reno 5 IP, 6 H, 1 BB, 8 K, 1 ER
1 Star: Michael Lee, Mobile 6 IP, 6 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 2 ER

Triple A: Reno 0 El Paso 2. After shutting out El Paso the night before 2-0, the Chihuahuas turned the tables on Reno with an identical 2-0 defeat. Charles Brewer was solid going 5 innings allowing just 1 run while striking out 8. But the offense came up with just 6 singles and a pair of walks. Nick Ahmed led the way going 2 for 3.
Double A: Mobile 2 @ Mississippi 4. The Bay Bears offense managed just 4 hits and 2 runs in support of a solid outing by newcomer Michael Lee. Lee went 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk. Justin Greene tripled and drove in a run in the loss.
High A: Visalia 2 Stockton 3. The Rawhide produced just 5 hits in their 3-2 loss as Spencer Arroyo's decent effort was also wasted. Arroyo went 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3. Brandon Jacobs hit a solo homer, his first of the year. It should be noted that former Visalia starters Cody Wheeler and Daniel Watts (both lefties) look as though they will be permanent bullpen members going forward. Both added a shutout inning of relief on the defeat.
Low A; South Bend 2 @ Bowling Green 0. Last year's 20th round pick Adam Miller got his first taste of full-season ball off to a good start with 5.2 shutout innings on 3 hits while striking out 7. Relivers Will Locante, Jose Jose and Kyle Schepel combined for 3.1 hitless innings of relief with 6 strikeouts to secure the victory. Daniel Palka delivered an RBI groundout in the first and a double to lead the offense, which had just 3 hits. Joe Munoz is officially playing 3rd base to make way for Andrew Velazquez and added 2 errors on the night giving him 3 for the season.
