SnakePit Fantasy Baseball: Week 4

A rough week at the top, as three of the leading four teams going into the fourth round, went down to defeat. That means a new leader, and lots of movement everywhere in the standings.

Much trotting round the bases for Jose Abreu this week.

Week 4 Results

AZ SnakePit 6, Mizzoula Osprey 4
Snake surged out of the gate, but were steadily reeled in and had to holdoff a determined fightback by Mizzoula. A lot of close categories: W, HR and SB were decided by one, and WHIP by .06. Kennedy got a W + 14 K for AZ, and Reed saved three; Donaldson had three HR and seven RBI for the Osprey.

Gregorius B.I.G. 4, MyWieterGetzLongoria 5
W ended tied, and that was enough to give Wieter victory, with Price's W + 19 strikeouts key, as they took WHIP by .01. They also got 13 K's by Teheran. Salazar fanned 14 for Gregorius, who did better on offense, with Moustakas giving them two HR and driving in six, but a .218 BA wasn't good enough.

Sofa King Juiced 8, Alabama Slammers 1
Sofa hit their stride, sweeping hitting behind Blackmon, Morse and Gonzalez (each three HR, six RBI), the first named also scoring nine Runs for Juiced. Tanaka got a W and 18 K's as well. Alabama could only take WHIP: Greinke had a W + 11 strikeouts, while Tulowitzki also had three HR.

Trumboner 9, Angry Saguaro 1
Leaders Saguaro fell apart, and plummeted to seventh as a result. Despite having Pitcher of the Week Wainwright (two W, zero ERA), they were swept on pitching, as Trumboner got three Sv from Perkins and 13 strikeouts by Richards. They also enjoyed two HR and seven driven in by Colabello.

Waffles 4, Space Wizard 5
An impressive 15 HR for Waffles, behind Hitter of the Week Abreu (five HR, 14 RBI), with Cruz (four HR, 13 RBI) and McCutchen (three HR) supporting. But Wizard's pitching was...wizard, with a 1.34 ERA; Papelbon and Street each notched three Sv, with Fernandez getting a W+14 K. Wins ended tied.

CGS 3, The Rusty Trumbones 7
The Trombones took all five hitting points, with Pujols (three HR, seven RBI) leading their offense, supported by two HR apiece from Castro and Upton. Things were closer on the mound, with CGS getting three Sv by Soria, plus two W and 11 K from Hammel, but Rusty got Lindstrom's W and two Sv.

Trail-Hitters 7, Got Grittiness? 2
And then there was one. Trail are the only undefeated team, and took over at the top after their biggest victory of the season to date. A 2.25 ERA and seven Sv (four by Rodriguez, three by Kimbrel) helped them sweep pitching, Grittiness got three HR and eight RBI by Lawrie, but it wasn't enough.

Gregorius take on Mizzoula, in a battle of fourth-placed versus second. Osprey took over sole possession of second, despite losing, and have dropped two in a row for the first time since Weeks 11 + 12 last year. They haven't lost three since records began, so can Gregorius do it? BIG have alternated wins and losses, which would schedule them for a W. Freeman has been their best player to date, ranked 18th overall, while the Osprey are led by the player right behind him, Donaldson.
