Spring Training Game #4: Gameday Thread

Back to Salt River this afternoon. Dunno how much traffic this one will get, because it's not being broadcast anywhere, as far as I can tell. Still, let's give it a chance. Join me, why don't you, in assiduously clicking the refresh button on Gameday...

The first game of 2014 for Patrick Corbin, so we'll see if he joins our other starters, who apparently have been pitching a little deeper into games than I would have expected from them in their debut appearances. Not complete games, obviously. But it's interesting that our starters have thrown four, three and 3.2 innings, while if the 16 non-Arizona starters who played yesterday, not one worked more than two frames. Wonder if this is the hand of Dave Duncan behind the scenes in some way? Of course, it could also be the case that we have our first "real" game more than a week before other teams, so need to hit the ground running harder.

Other things of interest. Parra batting at the top of the order against a left-handed starter. First sighting of Machete this spring. Chavez playing the field. Owings in the three-hole. Pollock getting another look as our lead-off guy.
