MLB Network announce spring-training TV schedule

If you want baseball, the MLB Network has got you covered, with pretty much wall-to-wall spring training games, beginning February 26. Here are details of what they have for Diamondbacks fans.

Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE

All told, they will be showing more than 200 games beginning on February 26, with at least one live game each day, almost through until the end of March. This week, they are also going through the Top 100 Players Right Now, which started last night with the bottom 20. Numbers #80 up to #41 will be revealed tonight, beginning at 7pm Arizona time, and the top forty are announced at the same time tomorrow. Wonder where Goldie will rank?

With regard to the Spring Training coverage, each game televised on MLB Network will be a carriage of local telecasts, including local announcers, and may potentially be blacked out in each club's home market. I've marked the most likely candidates in italics on the list below, but figure we have enough out of state fans reading the site, that the games are still of enough interest to be mentioned! Here's the list: all times are Arizona.

  • Wed., Feb. 26, 7:00 p.m. - Los Angeles Dodgers @ Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Thu., Feb. 27, 11:00 p.m - Arizona Diamondbacks Split Squad @ Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Fri., Feb. 28, 2.00 a.m. - Arizona Diamondbacks Split Squad @ Chicago Cubs
  • Wed., March 5, 3:00 p.m. - Kansas City Royals @ Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Sun., March 9, 8:00 a.m. - Arizona Diamondbacks Split Squad @ Los Angeles Angels
  • Wed., March 12, 2:00 a.m. - Cleveland Indians @ Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Fri., March 14, 2:00 p.m. LIVE - Arizona Diamondbacks @ Milwaukee Brewers
  • Sat., March 29, 2:00 a.m. - Chicago Cubs @ Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Sun., March 30, 10:00 p.m. - Chicago Cubs @ Arizona Diamondbacks

These may be in addition to, but there will likely be some overlap with, Fox Sports Arizona coverage. Though we did report the radio broadcasts for spring, I haven't yet heard official word on which games will be shown there: we will bring that to you as soon as we get their schedule.
