Post-season Gameday Thread, #11: The Cardinals... No, the OTHER ones...

After being blanked in the opener by Madison Bumgarner, St. Louis will be hoping to avoid the example Baltimore, the AL higher seed who lost their first two games at home to the wild-card team.

If there's another defeat for the Cardinals today, it's going to look increasingly like we'll have a Royals-Giants World Series, with both wild-card teams having taken two games on the road to seize a decisive advantage in their championship series. The St. Louis offense were basically no more able to handle Madison Bumgarner than the Pirates were in the play-in game; will they fare any better against Jake Peavy tonight? They do have a better track record, as Peavy has not won against the Cardinals in three career postseason starts against them. However, Lynn didn't do well against the Giants either, when he faced them twice in the 2012 Championship Series.
