Diamondbacks 6, Rays 1

Evan Longoria struck first for Tampa Bay with a solo home run of Wade Miley in the fourth inning, but the rest of the offense was all Diamondbacks on Tuesday night. A hit and run by Eric Chavez brought Paul Goldschmidt around to score from first base and then a three run home by Cody Ross gave Arizona a lead they never relinquished. Paul Goldschmidt scored another run in the fifth, after reaching on one of three walks, and Adam Eaton scored in the seventh on a Martin Prado double to give Arizona a 6-1 score.

Wade Miley looked solid on the mound, holding the Rays to just the one run and working out of trouble a few times. Heath Bell and Brad Ziegler kept Tampa off the board, too, each allowing just one hit in an inning apiece, as Arizona won the first game of the series on their return home.
