Triple A: Reno 2 @ Tucson 1.The Aces scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th inning to pull out a 1-run victory on Alfredo Marte's 2-run single. Charles Brewer had a great start going 7 strong innings allowing 1 run on 6 hits and a walk while striking out 7. The offense did nothing until the late heroics picking up just 5 hits on the night. David Hernandez got the save with a scoreless 9th.
Double A: Mobile 2 Pensacola 1. Mobile won by the exact same score as Reno with one of their runs coming on a solo home run by Dustin martin. Bradin Hagens was the star of the show with 7 solid innings allowing just one unearned run on 6 hits. The offense was led by Martin's homer and Keon Broxton who went 2 for with a double and a run scored. Willy Paredes tackled the 8th with 2 strikeouts and Jake Barrett pitched the 9th with 2 strikeouts for his 14th save. Barrett now sports a 0.38 ERA since being called up to Mobile.
High A: Visalia 1 @ San Jose 11. The Rawhide got waxed as Brad Allen's second start in the California League didn't go nearly as well as the first as he got knocked out in the 4th after surrendering 9 earned runs. The offense produced just 5 singles and no walks for the game.
Low A: South Bend 3 @ Bowling Green 5. The defense was abysmal in support of Aaron Blair who left with one out in the 6th having allowed 5 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits but no walks. The Silver Hawks defense had 5 errors for the game. South Bend was another team with just 5 singles.
Short Season A: Hillsboro 9 Eugene 2.The Hops finally got a laugher as they scored 7 runs before the 4th inning was over. Zach Esquerra did some damage going 2 for 5 with a double and a home run. Ryan Doran was good on the mound going 6+ innings allowing 2 runs on 7 hits.
Rookie: Missoula 5 @ Helena 7. Carlos Hernandez had a so-so start allowing 4 runs (3 earned) and Jency Solis gave up 3 more in the 7th. The Osprey had just 5 hits (another one) but they collected 9 walks.
AZl Rookie: Dbacks 1 Cubs 10. In the team's final game of the season, and a must-win to have any chance of getting into the playoffs, the Dbacks laid an egg and got walloped by the Cubs. Dallas Newton gave up 5 runs though just 1 was earned, as the defense committed 3 errors, 2 by Newton. Guess how many hits the Dbacks had...right exactly 5.
