The Arizona Diamondbacks announced they placed right-handed pitcher J.J. Putz on the 15-day disabled list (dislocated right little finger) and recalled right-handed pitcher Chaz Roe from Triple-A Reno, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers. Putz, 36, suffered a dislocated right little finger attempting to field Kevin Frandsen's ground ball to end the seventh inning at Citizens Bank Park. He was 3-1 with 6 saves and a 2.43 ERA (8 ER in 29.2 IP) in 35 appearances with the D-backs this season, including a 0.57 ERA (1 ER in 15.2 IP) over his last 19.
Roe, 26, is 1-0, posting a 5.40 ERA (3 ER in 5.0 IP) in 5 games with the D-backs this season, and it will be his fourth spell with the big-league club. He went 0-1 with 8 saves and a 1.11 ERA (3 ER in 24.1 IP) in 25 combined appearances with Double-A Mobile and Reno this season.
