This was one of those nights where nothing noteworthy happened in the minors. So there's no featured player from last night.

Triple A: Reno 2 @ Fresno 4. Tyler Skaggs took the loss but pitched decently but not great. He allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits and 3 walks over 6 innings while striking out 2. The offense produced just 6 hits. ed easley went 2 for 4. Brad Snyder went 2 for 3 with a walk and a double. But he also got caught stealing, got picked off and committed an error. Isn't that some kind of modern-day cycle?
Double A: Mobile 5 Jackson 4. Andrew Chafin started and wasn't as sharp as he has been recently. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings. But the offense came through with 4 runs of their own and eventually won it in the bottom of the 10th with a walk-off error. Nick Evans went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI to lead the offense. Relievers Willy Paredes and Derek Eitel combined for 5 shutout innings of relief without allowing a hit.
High A: Visalia 5 Modesto 11. Brandon Sinnery got rocked for 7 runs over 5+ innings and Cody Wheeler was even worse allowing 4 more when he took over in the 6th. Jake Lamb had a nice game going 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI.
Low A: South Bend 2 Bowling Green 3. Braden Shipley made his second start for South Bend and was pretty good allowing 2 runs over 5 innings on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 4. Henry Garcia and Kyle Winkler followed with 3 shutout innings. But Jimmy Sherfy took the loss in the 9th surrendering his first run as a professional. Alex Glenn went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
Short Season A: Hillsboro 4 @ Spokane 1. Brian Billigen hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 11th to break open a 1-1 game. Kyle Schepel was very good going 7 strong innings allowing 1 run on 8 hits and a walk. it should be noted that Schepel has been demoted twice from Visalia to South Bend and now Hillsboro, so take it with a grain of salt. Blayne Weller pitched a shaky 11th for his 2nd save.
