Week 18 Results

AZ SnakePit 1, Sofa King Juiced 8
Sofa look increasingly unstoppable, and could claim the first post-season spot as early as this week, if they outscore Dirt McGrit. They had no problem with Snake, let by Beltre (eight R, seven RBI) and Greinke (two W, 11 K). Snake's best was the W + 19 K's by Strasburg.

MyWieterGetzLongoria 3, Waffles 7
The ESPN Game of the Week went to Waffles, though both teams still remain on course for September action. No batter had more than one HR or five RBI, so this was largely decided on the mound. Holland had three Saves for Waffles, and Hernandez a W and 12 strikeouts for Wieter.

Phoenix Platypi 2, Alabama Slammers 7
The Slammers moved into a playoff spot, with three home-runs by Gordon leading their offense, backed by a pair from Ramirez; Davis and Reyes each had two HR for the Platypi, as Alabama swept hitting. Phoenix also got a W + 13 K from Kershaw, but Lackey's 15 K's let the Slammers hold on.

Mizzoula Osprey 6, Got Grittiness? 4
The Osprey took all five hitting points to hold on to second place, batting a collective .310 behind Hitter of the Week Cabrera's four HR and 11 driven in. Werth had two HR and seven R for Got, who staged a comeback on the mound behind Verlander's W + 16 K, yet fell just short.

Dirt McGrit 8, Blonde Streaks 2
It's looking dire for Blonde,. who lost for the ninth time in ten rounds, despite two HR and eight RBI by Jones. Morneau's four HR plus ten runs driven in and Reddick's five HR powered Dirt's offense, with Sanchez (W + 19 strikeouts) doing the same for their pitching.

CompleteGameShutout 7, The Fighting Amish 3
Complete hit .300 and took all five hitting points, behind three HR by Hardy, with two HR and seven RBI by Hill backing him. The Amish did post a minuscule 1.17 ERA, but Shields' W and eight K was enough for Complete to hold on, and gain ground above the relegation zone.

Space Wizard 4, Moved Upton 6
Upton just edged both hitting and pitching, but were pushed in both. Appropriately, it was Upton who led their hitters, with three HR and five RBI; Space got two HR from Soriano. Dickey's 11 K's for Moved was matched by Cain for the Wizards, and Upton held on to their playoff spot for now.
