Wade Miley pitched 8 innings of one-run ball, and the D'Backs offense destroyed Drew Pomeranz as the D'Backs clinched the series against the Rockies.
The night was not going to go well for the former Cleveland first round draft pick after walking the bases loaded in the 2nd inning and giving up a bases-clearing double to Wade Miley. The following inning he gave up a two-run BOMB to All Star Paul Goldschmidt to make it 5-0 and that's all she wrote. Gerardo Parra had an RBI double and Martin Prado and Miguel Montero each had homers late to bury the Rockies.
Miley pitched 8 innings and struck out five. His only run allowed was a cosmically meaningless solo shot to Carlos Gonzalez in the 7th.
After two consecutive tire-fires, the D'Backs will go for the sweep tomorrow.
Full recap upcoming.
