Tyler Skaggs walked a bunch of dudes. All of them came around to score. As you can imagine, the Diamondbacks lost mostly because of this.
The inning in question where this happened was the top of the 3rd. After two quick outs, Skaggs gave free bases to a bunch of San Diego Padres that ended with a Yonder Alonso bases clearing double to make it 5-1. A few more home runs in the top of the 4th pretty much sealed it for San Diego, but they added on a few runs off an also walk-happy David Hernandez to make it 12-3.
Paul Goldschmidt and Miguel Montero had homers in this game, which accounted for all of the Diamondbacks scoring for this game.
The good news: The D'Backs are still up by one in this series on aggregate, so we got that going for us.
Full recap upcoming.
