Tyler Skaggs optioned to Single-A Visalia, Eury De La Rosa called up from Reno

USA TODAY Sports

Just coming in from the Diamondbacks Twitter feed, Tyler Skaggs will take another trip to the minors after his less-than-stellar outing against the Dodgers last night. He's probably headed down a little further than we expected, though, as the official reports have him heading down to Single-A Visalia. Steve Gilbert added on Twitter that Skaggs will be going to Visalia so he can stay on his regular turn through the rotation, and that we'll likely see him back after the All Star Break.

To take Skagg's spot in the rotation, we'll have Eury De La Rosa up from Reno. I'm no expert, but this looks to be basic bullpen filler to me, after the team's relief arms have pitched so many innings. De La Rosa has been pitching in relief for Reno this season and has given 37 appearances with a less-than-impressive 5.14 ERA for the Aces.
