Tuesday it was the Chris Owings show. Last night it was Matt Davidson's turn as he clubbed a 3rd inning grand slam en route to a 2 for 4 night with 5 RBI. Owings and Davidson make up the left side of the infield for the Future's Game scheduled for July 15 before the All Star Game. Davidson hasn't quite been playing as well as Owings this year but he's been consistently good all year. he hasn't had any extended sumps though he hasn't had any super hot streaks either. His defense seems to be quietly improving too as his errors have become more infrequent as he has 16 errors on the year. Davidson is another trade candidate and perhaps even more so than Owings with his path to the majors just as blocked by Prado, unless they move Prado to the outfield, always a possibility for next year.
Snake Stars
3 Stars: Matt Davidson, Reno 2 for 4, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 HR (13), 5 RBI
2 Stars: Bradin Hagens, Mobile 6 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 0 ER, W (9-4)

Triple A: Reno 8 @ Fresno 3. Matt Davidson delivered the crushing blow of a grand slam in the 3rd inning and that's all the runs the team would need, though they added plenty of insurance. The Dbacks signed minor league free agent right hander Matt Wright and thrust him directly into the Aces rotation. He didn't do half bad allowing 3 runs in 5+ innings with 6 strikeouts. Brad Snyder added 3 hits, Mike Jacobs had 2 and Alfredo Marte had 2 with a double.
Double A: Mobile 3 @ Jacksonville 0. Bradin Hagens was outstanding tossing 6 shutout innings on 3 hits and 3 walks. The bullpen was just as good adding 3 shutout innings allowing no hits with Jake Barrett taking care of the 9th for his 3rd save. Nick Evans was the offensive star going 2 for 3 with a walk, a double a home run and an RBI. Ryan Court and Keon Broxton each had 2 hits with an RBI.
High A: Visalia 6 San Jose 3. Andrew Barbosa evened his record at 6-6 with 6 solid innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits while striking out 5. Barbosa has had a couple of bumpy patches throughout the year but he does have 93 strikeouts in 81 innings. There still might be some talent to be harvested there before it's all over. The offense was led by Jon Griffin who delivered a 2-run homer and 3 RBI. The bullpen was solid with 3 shutout innings capped off by RJ Hively striking out the side for his 3rd save.
Low A: South Bend 7 Kane County 2. Brandon Sinnery had another very good outing going 7 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 5. He raised his record to 6-4. The middle of the Silver Hawks order did all the damage with Socrates Brito leading the way going 3 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Brandon Drury went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and Rudy Flores went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.
Short Season A: Hillsboro 1 @ Tri-City 4. The Hillsboro offense got dominated as they managed just 2 hits and one run. Jonathan Pulley had a nice start in his own right allowing 2 runs over 6 innings. Chase Stevens hurt any comeback chance allowing 2 runs in his one inning of work.
Rookie: Missoula 6 Ogden 1.Carlos Hernandez had a very good outing allowing just 1 run on 4 hits and a walk over 5.2 innings with 5 Ks. The offense blew the game open in the 1st inning scoring 5 times featuring an RBI double by Daniel Palka, an RBI single by Stryker Trahan, and a 2-run homer by Joe Munoz, his 2nd in the last 3 games. Trahan went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and Munoz went 2 for 4.
