It was not a good day in minor league baseball for the Dbacks yesterday and especially for a bunch of our prospects. Tyler Skaggs got roughed up again...and the Aces lost another. Mobile had the only good news of the day in splitting a doubleheader. Visalia lost as Andrew Barbosal left after one inning with some kind of injury after giving up 4 runs. South Bend lost to first place Cedar Rapids. Fidel Pena went 0 for 5 with 2 strikeouts. Alex Glenn went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts. Michael Perez went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts. Sean Jamieson went 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts. Gerson Montilla went 0 for 4 with 1 strikeout. Evan Marzilli went 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts. Keon Broxton came back from the DL and went 0 for 3 with a strikeout. Adam Eaton went 0 for 4 with a strikeout. Matt Davidson went 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts. Anthony Meo got beat up again. It was a task just to find people to give the daily stars to. One of the worst days in recent memory with so little good news to report.

Snake Stars
3 Stars: Ryan Court, South Bend 3 for 3, 1 BB, 2 R, 1 DBL, 1 RBI
2 Stars: Mike Freeman, Mobile 3 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI, GWRGI
1 Star: Warner Madrigal, Reno 2 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 5 K, 0 ER
0 Stars: Too many to pick one

Triple A: Reno 5 @ Tacoma 6.The offense kept scoring runs early on to give Tyler Skaggs the lead on several occasions, but every time they did Skaggs would give it back. Skaggs didn't have it again last night as he gave up 6 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8 in 5 innings of work. He left the game trailing 6-5 and the offense couldn't come back any more as Skaggs dropped to 2-4. Taylor Harbin led the ofense with a 2 for 4 effort including a double and an RBI.

Double A: Game 1. Mobile 2 Huntsville 4. Starter Anthony Meo is in a bit of a tailspin as he had his 3rd consecutive poor start, mostly attributable to control problems. He walked 5 in 4.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. One of Mobile's lone runs came on a home run by Ender Inciarte, his 2nd of the year. Garrett Webber added a pair of singles.

Double A: Game 2: Mobile 4 Huntsville 3. The Bay Bears pulled out a squeaker in the nightcap after digging an early 3-1 hole. The game got into extra innings and Mike Freeman delivered the walk-off GWRBI with a single in the bottom of the 10th. Freeman had 3 hits on the night with an RBI. Prospect Keon Broxton came off the DL yesterday and played in his first game for Mobile. he went 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout. Bradin Hagens started and wasn;t too sharp, but he did enough to keep the game close. Brett Lorin earned the win with 3 shutout innings of relief.

High A: Visalia 1 @ Stockton 7. This one was never close as Andrew Barbosa got hit pretty hard in the 1st inning when he allowed 4 hits and a walk good for 4 runs. Barbosa left the game with some type of apparent injury but no details are available at this time. The offense couldn't do anything with the exception of Jake Lamb who collected a couple of hits, a walk and a double.

Low A: South Bend 4 Cedar Rapids 8.There were no miracle comebacks this time around as Cedar Rapids scored 4 in the 1st off newly acquired Brad Allen. The offense tried to battle back but their was also a corresponding response from cedar Rapids every time South Bend challenged. All three relievers who followed Allen allowed runs. Ryan Court refused to cool off with another perfect day. Kevin Medrano had a couple of hits to raise his average over .300.
