After an absolutely horrible month of April and part of May for Randall Delgado, he's finally starting to make some progress. He's not overwhelming anyone mind you but let's call them baby steps. Over his last three starts covering 16.2 innings, Delgado has allowed 4 earned runs on 18 hits and 6 walks while striking out 13. That's an ERA of 2.15 and if you factor in the 15% PCL factor that's an adjusted ERA of about 1.83. The WHIP is on the highish side and the K rate isn't overly impressive at 7.01 but considering where he was that's progress. It had to happen sooner or later. He has a good repertoire and good movement. He shouldn't be getting lit up the way he has been.

Triple A: Reno 6 @ Las Vegas 5. Randall Delgado is starting to find himself of late and had a decent start in Las Vegas. He allowed 1 run on 9 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3 in 5.1 innings of work. It was a battle of the bullpens late as both pens struggled and Reno got the edge. Tony Campana had 3 RBI as part of his 2-hit night and was caught stealing for the first time all season. Willie Bloomquist went 2 for 4 with an RBI in his continued rehab assignment. Chris Owings and Kila Ka'aihue each homered. Ka'aihue leads the league with 15.
Double A: Mobile 0 @ Chattanooga 0. Andrew Chafin battled with top prospect Zach Lee and Lee got the edge in a 1-0 pitcher's duel. Chafin was pretty darned good himself going 6 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5. The Mobile offense could only muster 3 hits on the night.
High A: Visalia 2 Modesto 9. The Rawhide got roughed up again as Cody Wheeler has hit the skids a bit in his last few starts. Last night it was 6 earned runs on 10 hits and 3 walks. Most of the damage came in the first inning with 4 runs scored. Conrad Flynn pitched the final 5 frames allowing 3 runs of his own. Sean Jamieson went 2 for 3 with a walk and a double, and Evan Marzilli had a pair of singles and an RBI. Jake Lamb had a bad night going 0 for 4 with 4 strikeouts, and also committed his 4th error. Lamb is in a bit of a slump hitting just .171 in his last 10 games and is striking out at a 27% clip on the season.
Low A: South Bend 9 @ Dayton 8. South Bend rallied from an 8-1 deficit after 6 innings by scoring 6 in the 7th and 2 more in the 8th for the 1-run victory. Starter Brad Allen got knocked out after 3 innings and Henry Garcia wasn't very good behind him allowing 3 runs of his own. But relievers Will Locante, Thomas Brendel, and Enrique Burgos held Dayton scoreless over the final 4 frames with 6 strikeouts. Rudy Flores hit a big 2-out, 3-run homer in the 7th and Brandon Drury tallied 3 RBI on 2 hits.
