Snake Bytes, 5/16: Is This Thing On?

The Diamondbacks took the rubber game against the Atlanta Braves. Despite Ian Kennedy not having his best stuff, the Diamondback offense managed to get him his first win since Opening Day.

Diamondbacks Take Rubber Game from Braves

Paul Goldschmidt hit three doubles and Eric Chavez slapped a Tim Hudson cutter the opposite direction to lead the Diamondbacks to a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Despite not having his best stuff, Ian Kennedy managed to get the win allowing five runs in five innings.

Kubel Rests Ailing Quad

It seems that Jason Kubel just can't seem to get his legs healthy this season. Kubel was held out of the lineup again on Wednesday to allow him to rest an ailing quad, the same quad that landed him on the DL earlier in the season.

Taking Notice of Patrick Corbin

Seems some people are starting to finally take notice of Patrick Corbin and the great start he is off to. Although the Diamondbacks have their own great lefty for making comparisons to, it seems that there are others that think Corbin might be just a tick behind a certain detested lefty in L.A.

The Early Returns on "The Trade"

Now that the Atlanta Braves have visited Chase Field, and lost two of three, it's only fair to take a quick look at how the three key pieces of the Upton trade performed.

Around MLB

Are the Dodgers Back?

Although the Dodgers just placed Beckett on the DL, things look as though they may be turning around for the Dodgers. Against a strong Washington Nationals team, Zack Greinke turned in a solid 5 1/3 innings, while Matt Kemp had two hits, extending his hitting streak to 14. Adrian Gonzalez also had two hits and Crawford had a PH RBI.

Pricey Injury

David Price was lifted from Tampa's Wednesday game against the Red Sox. Though he is not yet headed to the DL, this has to make things tougher on the team when deciding his future with them. The reigning AL Cy Young winner is off to a 1-4 start and has been batted around fairly badly in a handful of starts already.

Ziegfield Follies in Southeast Asia

While not actually MLB news, there is an MLB tie to the recent rash of laugh out loud antics in Southeast Asia.
