SnakePit Fantasy Baseball, Week 6

Not a great week for the leaders, as only one of the top six teams scored more than three points. That has seriously "crunched" the standings together, as a result, with just 10.5 points separating first and 11th.

Week 6 Results

AZ SnakePit 7, Mizzoula Osprey 3
Even Goldschmidt (four HR, nine RBI) couldn't save 2nd-placed Mizzoula, SnakePit hitting .309 with a team 1.47 ERA for the week. Bautista had two HR and seven RBI for AZ, while Wainwright's complete-game shutout led their pitchers. Bumgarner got a W + 18 K for the Osprey.

MyWieterGetzLongoria 7, Sofa King Juiced 1
Leaders Sofa fared even worse, though held on to first, despite taking only K's: Cobb and Buchholz each getting 13. But Harvey got 16 for Wieter, with Moustakas getting three HR, and Encarnacion homering twice, with six runs driven in. SB and Sv ended tied, but Longoria rolled to a win.

Phoenix Platypi 3, Waffles 6
Waffles were the only leading team to do well, sweeping hitting in the ESPN Game of the Week. They hit .330 and had Hitter of the Week Longoria (8 R, 3 HR, 11 RBI, .464), with Rizzo adding seven RBI. The Platypi got two W from Lee and Parnell, but Waffles took WHIP by .01 and held on.

Alabama Slammers 3, Moved Upton 7
Moved dominated pitching, with six W and nine SV: Johnson and Grilli each had three of the latter, while Alabama had four pitchers with double-digit ERA/ They did fight back at the plate, Gordon getting three home-runs and eight RBI, but Upton hit .276, cruising to overall victory.

Dirt McGrit 5, Got Grittiness? 3
The Battle of Grit went to Dirt, in the week's closest game: Runs and K's ended tied, which was enough for McGrit to prevail. Dirt hit .338 with 10 runs from Mauer, and nine driven in by Minnesota teammate Morneau. Miller had a W + 13 K for Grittiness, and Frieri saved three games.

CompleteGameShutout 9, Blonde Streaks 1
Blonde plummeted from fifth to 11th in one week, Runs their sole victory - Sandoval scored five, along with two HR. Otherwise, Complete almost lived up to their name. McCann (two HR, seven RBI) led their offense, while Wilson struck out 15, and Rivera notched four saves.

Space Wizard 8, The Fighting Amish 2
The Amish fell into the relegation zone, managing four HR and 14 RBI on the week. Kipnis had close to half that (two HR, six RBI) alone, for Space. The Amish did get a W + 12 K from both Parker and Sale, but Wizard got a W + 14 K from Lincecum, and Rodney's two Sv were sufficient.
