Week 3 Results

AZ SnakePit 2, Alabama Slammers 7
Perhaps closer than it seemed: Alabama took RBI by one, and WHIP by .04. Nobody had more than one HR, but Gonzalez (Slammers) had seven runs and six RBI; Phillips had seven RBI for Snake. Medlen struck out 11 for the Slammers, who got two Saves from Janssen.

MyWieterGetzLongoria 3, Phoenix Platypi 6
Phoenix swept the hitting categories: four home-runs from Arencibia and a pair by Davis, were key to the Platypi victory, countering the three Braun posted for Wieter. On pitching, Wieter fought back, with a W + 12 K from Milone, but Dempster's 18 strikeouts were enough for Phoenix.

Waffles 7, Got Grittiness? 2
Waffles dominated pitching, behind Lynn (two W and 12 strikeouts) and Holland (three Sv + eight K's); Verlander fanned a dozen for Got. The hitting points ended evenly split, each side winning two, with SB ending tied. Longoria had four HR for Waffles; Tulowitzki three for Grittiness.

Sofa King Juiced 4, Blonde Streaks 6
After two comprehensive wins, Sofa tasted defeat for the first time, and surprisingly, their pitching let them down. Blonde took all those points, Buerhle and Fister each getting a W + 10 K, while Perkins saved three. Napoli drove in 10 for Sofa, and Ellsbury scored eight, but it wasn't enough.

Mizzoula Osprey 4, The Fighting Amish 4
These two are very familiar opponents and fought to a tie, with Wins and Saves ending level. Neither side got great pitching - Mizzoula had Rick Porcello's 121.50 ERA! - but Betancourt (Amish) got a W + two Sv. Frazier (Osprey) had two HR and seven RBI; Wright (Amish) five Runs and five RBI.

Dirt McGrit 4, Space Wizard 5
Space tasted victory for the first time, and moved off the bottom, but it was close - SB were tied, which was decisive. Most of the best players were for Dirt - Beltran had three homers, Hellickson a W and 15 K - but Space took all three rate stats and Rodney's Save was the only one for either side.

CompleteGameShutout 2, Moved Upton 8
Complete are struggling, with six wins in the first three week. This round, they were mown down by Upton's pitching, which notched 84 K's and a 1.50 ERA: Bailey had 18 strikeouts. Henderson did get a W + three Sv for Shutout. Wieters, Upton and Duda each had two homers for Moved.
