SnakePit Fantasy Baseball: Week 2

After last week's long session, this was the first regular week of games, but there were still some impressive performances, both teams and individual, led by Clay Buchholz's near no-hitter.

Week 2 Results

AZ SnakePit 7, Phoenix Platypi 2
SnakePit slugged their way to victory, pounding out 14 home-runs, with Phillips getting three and driving in nine runs; Konerko had two plus seven RBI. On the mound, Beckett got 13 K's for Phoenix, but AZ posted a sub-one WHIP, with Wainwright getting a Win as well as a dozen strikeouts.

MyWieterGetzLongoria 2, Moved Upton 7
Upton piled up 11 saves, one off the record: Grilli got four, while Soriano and Johnson got three each. Kimbrel had four for Wieter, and Harvey added two Wins and 15 strikeouts. Upton took four hitting points, Castro leading with two HR and five RBI, Upton + LaRoche each also homering twice.

Alabama Slammers 6, Got Grittiness? 3
Neither team had anyone with more than one HR, the best hitter being Altuve (Grittiness) who had five R and three RBI in addition to his homer. Pagan drove in five for Alabama. They got four saves and nine strikeouts from Romo, and 11 K's by Cahill; Miller had a W and zero ERA for Grittiness.

Waffles 4, Blonde Streaks 6
The only game this week decided by less than three points: Blonde took RBI by one, and with it the overall victory. Buck's three HR and seven driven in anchored their offense, Gonzalez and Harper each with two HR. Nathan had three Sv, while Peavy got a W + 18 K for Waffles, and Andrus drove in six.

Sofa King Juiced 9, The Fighting Amish 1
Sofa posted their second consecutive blowout, sweeping hitting with a .304 average, led by Hitter of the Week Fielder, who hit .632 with two HR and 11 RBI. They also had Pitcher of the Week Buchholz, who had two W, 19 K and a zero ERA. Amish only took Sv, Putz notching a Win and a Save.

Mizzoula Osprey 9, Space Wizard 1
Osprey followed suit, also matching their last week's score. Wizard hit .305 for their only win, but it was all Mizzoula otherwise. Fowler homered twice, while Bumgarner led their pitching staff with two Wins and 11 strikeouts, Wilhemsen adding a trio of Saves, and Garcia striking out 15.

Dirt McGrit 7, CompleteGameShutout 3
McGrit piled up 61 K's, with their staff ace this week Sanchez, who won twice and added 16 strikeouts. Cano led the way at the plate, with three home-runs and eight RBI; de Aza scored six times while homering twice. Shutout got two HR and six RBI from Hamilton, and Wilson notched a W + 10 strikeouts.

Sofa vs. Streaks is the ESPN Game of the Week, and is already underway, pitting against each other, two sides who have yet to taste defeat this season. Sofa have surged out with a pair of 9-1 victories, with Fielder (#3 overall) and Maholm (#6) their stars to date. Streaks have relied on their bats, with three of the top 12 players there, in Buck, Harper and Jones.
