Diamondbacks 10, Pirates 2

After struggling early against the Pirates in the first two games of the series, the Diamondbacks offense showed up early and often in the series closer. A.J. Pollock led the charge against Pittsburgh, starting the scoring in the bottom of the first and adding on home runs in the second and fourth innings. He ended the day going 3 for 5 with three runs scored, four RBI, and some flashy defensive plays. On the other side of the field, Pittsburgh's defense didn't do Jonathan Sanchez many favors, either, contributing two errors.

Wade Miley put up a solid effort to earn his second win of the season for Arizona, pitching into the seventh inning and only allowing five hits before Brad Ziegler came in to replace him. J.J. Putz came in to close out the ninth inning, striking out three. The Diamondbacks moved to 6-3 on the season, and will have tomorrow off before the Dodgers come to Phoenix on Friday.
