Diamondbacks Spring Training Gameday Thread, #10, vs. Giants

It's a comfort to think of how the year ended up unfolding the last time we played the "World Series champion Giants" in spring training. That would have been before the 2011 season, where we won the division. Here's to this season playing out in similar vein.

Last time Collmenter faced the Giants, he was slightly less...hairy.

Has spring training fatigue set in? I wonder, because of the near-silence in yesterday's Gameday Thread, even though it was on the radio, like last Saturday. Perhaps the novelty of this thing called "baseball" has worn off already. I won't be about this afternoon myself, as we are having a day of "catching up on Oscar-nominated movies we didn't see," Currently scheduled are Argo, Life of Pi, possibly Near Dark Thirty and, so help me god, Les Miserables. That one is Mrs. SnakePit's selection. I ask for your thoughts in this difficult time. [Actually, I don't mind musicals as long as they're hummable. Not sure how much this one will qualify though]

Don't forget, tonight is also SnakePit Video Round Table night, which won't have to compete with the Oscars this evening, so you've got no excuses not to tune in. Unless, like me, you're building a fort out of cushions, wrapping a handkerchief around your head and manning the barricades, in a clear case of post-Les Mis traumatic stress disorder. Looks like Aaron Hill hasn't quite recovered from his quad tightness, as the original line-up which had him in it, has been updated to give Cliff Pennington the start as second-base today. Here's the Diamondbacks line-up for this afternoon's game:

  1. Adam Eaton CF
  2. Willie Bloomquist SS
  3. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  4. Jason Kubel LF
  5. Cody Ross RF
  6. Rod Barajas C
  7. Cliff Pennington 2B
  8. John McDonald 3B
  9. Josh Collmenter P
+ David Holmberg, Eddie Bonine, Warner Madrigal, Eric Smith, Eury de la Rosa
