Diamondbacks Spring Training: Gameday Thread, #28, vs. Indians

No Trevor Bauer in the Indians dugout, as he was sent to the minors this morning by Cleveland. Coincidence? Or something more sinister!!!.

Diamondbacks line-up

  1. Adam Eaton, CF
  2. Martin Prado, LF
  3. Eric Chavez, 3B
  4. Aaron Hill, 2B
  5. Miguel Montero, C
  6. Eric Hinske 1B
  7. Jason Kubel, RF
  8. Willie Bloomquist, SS
  9. Ian Kennedy P
+ Brad Ziegler, Joe Paterson, J.J. Putz, Matt Reynolds, Eddie Bonine

Interesting line-up today, with Prado playing in the outfield. Offhand, think that might be a first this spring? The move sounds like the team might be preparing for the absence of Cody Ross come Opening Day. The de facto outfield of Kubel, Eaton and Parra are all left-handed, and have some fairly brutal splits against southpaws, so it might make sense to get Prado (and, I suspect, A..J. Pollock) in there. Of course, that just opens up a hole at third-base, and the obvious candidate there (Chavez) is another leftie.

Here's to a good start from Kennedy, matching McCarthy's quality one from yesterday - ideally, with a few less hits this afternoon.
