SnakePit Fantasy Baseball: The Name's The Thing

Yes: this just looks...wrong.
Yes: this just looks...wrong.
US PRESSWIRE

Due to popular demand, there will again be three divisions of SnakePit Fantasy Baseball this year. The top tier, Division 1, contains the longest-serving members, as well as the winners of the lower divisions from previous seasons, who earned promotion through their demonstrated sterling management skills. 1-A and 1-B, under the management of Clefo and blank_38, contain the others who expressed an interest in the previous thread and who accepted the invitations. Thanks to Scottyyy, who stepped in as a late replacement to avoid Division 1-A having an odd number of teams.

What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.

One of the fun things is naming your team - or, in my case, seeing everyone else's names, since I never bother with anything more imaginative than "AZ SnakePit". Hey, you call it laziness, I prefer to refer to it as "enhancing brand awareness"... For the record, here are the other team names from Division 1: sure Clefo and blank_38 will provide the lists from their leagues too: MyWieterGetzLongoria, Phoenix Platypi, Undecided, Alabama Slammers, Blonde Streaks, Waffles, The Fighting Amish, Sofa King Juiced, Space Wizard, Mizzoula Osprey, CompleteGameShutout, Don Quixotes and Moved Upton (the last, formerly and sadly known as the Moving On Uptons),

It's the usual mix of straightforwardness, wit and WTF. I'll leave you to decide which names fall into which category, but if any managers wish to share the stories behind their choice of team label, I'd be interested to hear them. And now, some words from our sponsors...
