D-backs Announce 2014 Minor League Coaching Staff

There are a few familiar names to be found among the Diamondbacks coaches across the farm system this year, probably headlined by the presence of Mark Grace as hitting coach for the short-season Hillsboro Hops.

Christian Petersen

Grace, of course, was our color commentator until his second DUI led to a four-month stint as a guest of Sheriff Joe. He spent much of 2013 working as an instructor in the Arizona Rookie League, but continues his redemption with a position further up the farm system. He'll join another former Diamondback, catcher Chad Moeller, with whom Grace played on the 2001 team, who is the Hillsboro Hops trainer. Other names you might recognize include Andy Green and Robby Hammock, who will be catchers at Double-A Mobile and High-A Visalia respectively, and Jeff Bajenaru, who's the pitching coach for the Missoula Osprey.

Up in Reno, the team has a new manager too, with long time Padres Phil Nevin replacing Brett Butler, who has taken a coaching position with the Miami Marlins major-league side. Nevin is in his sixth season as a manager, having spent the last three years in charge of the Tigers' Triple-A Toledo outfit. The full list of managers and coaches is as follows:
