"Tony Perezchica is an exceptional baseball man that has been key in the development of players like Paul Goldschmidt, Chris Owings, and Matt Davidson," said Bell. "He is a person of tremendous character, loyalty and knowledge and we are fortunate to have him."

Perezchica, 47, enters his 12th season with the D-backs and will serve in a dual-role during his first year as Field & Infield Coordinator, after previously serving as the club's Infield Coordinator for the past eight seasons (2006-2013). He compiled a 173-179 overall record as manager at Double-A Tennessee (2005), Single-A South Bend (2004) and Rookie-Advanced Missoula (2003). Prior to joining the D-backs, Perezchica served as a hitting coach with the Yankees organization at Double-A Norwich (1997), Triple-A Columbus (1998) and Single-A Greensboro (1999-2001).

Drafted as an infielder by the Giants in the third round of the 1984 First-Year Player Draft from Palm Springs (Calif.) High School, Perezchica played with the Giants (1984-91), Indians (1992), Yankees (1994-95) and Braves (1996) organizations. Over parts of 12 Minor League seasons, he hit .273 (944-for-3,458) with 172 doubles, 52 triples, 78 home runs, 426 RBI and 490 runs scored. In 68 Major League games, he hit .228 (23-for-101) in four seasons between the Giants (1988, 1990-91) and Indians (1991-92).

"Dan Carlson is a long time D-backs who has taught and mentored many of our top pitching prospects over the last 12 years," said Bell. "His knowledge and approach have prepared our players for the Major League team and he will have the opportunity to impact more pitchers in his new role."

Carlson, 43, begins his 13th year as a coach in the D-backs organization and first as Minor League Pitching Coordinator, after four seasons as the pitching coach for Double-A Mobile (2010-13). He previously held the same role with Short-Season Yakima (2008-09), Double-A Mobile (2007), Double-A Tennessee (2005-06), Single-A Lancaster (2004), Single-A South Bend (2003) and Rookie-Advanced Missoula (2002).

Carlson played in parts of 12 Minor League Seasons between the Giants (1990-97), Rays (1998), Diamondbacks (1999-2000, 2001) and Cardinals (2001). He went 105-69 with a 4.04 ERA (640 ER in 1,425.2 IP), including 1,240 strikeouts and 15 complete games (5 shutouts) in 311 appearances (202 starts). The Portland, Ore. native went 1-0 with a 6.70 ERA (35 ER in 47.0 IP) in 23 relief appearances at the Major League-level, including two appearances with the D-backs in 1999. He was selected by the Giants in the 33rd Rd. of the 1989 First-Year Player Draft from Mount Hood (Ore.) Community College.
