It's an odd schedule, with a yawning chasm in the second half of March, due to the Diamondbacks' trip down under, to open the season against the Dodgers in Sydney. Maybe that explains the increase in the number of split-squad games, with five Cactus League days on which the Arizona roster will be playing twice. Usually, those involve playing at two separate locations, but I note a couple of times - March 1 and March 3 - where both ends of the double-header are talking place at Salt River Fields. Kinda tempted to take one of those, and spend the entire day over at the complex, just for the fun of it!

We have nine contests against our National League West rivals, with three against the Dodgers and Rockies, a pair of games versus the San Diego Padres and one game against the San Francisco Giants. There are also four evening games at Salt River Fields: March 1 vs. the Chicago Cubs, March 3 vs. the Rockies, March 10 vs. the Seattle Mariners and an "away" game against the Rockies on March 12. There are no road games scheduled in the evening. After the team comes back from Australia, there are four games to get the jet-lag out of their system: three are against the Cubs, including the usual last two at Chase Field, before the season opener vs. SF on the 31st.

Ticket plans for spring training go on sale December 19. Individual tickets for all games at Salt River Fields, then go on sale at 10am on January 11.
