Sonny Gray

At first, I thought the stats above were an error, since I knew both men had already pitched in the series. However, on further review, turns out they are spot on. The pair faced off on Saturday in Oakland, each holding the other team scoreless, with the Athletics eventually squeaking out a 1-0 victory after both starting pitchers had left the game. This certainly sets the stage for a fascinating rematch at the Coliseum tonight, with the stakes even higher than the first time. Can Gray match the former Cy Young winner for a second time? I'd not be prepared to bet against Verlander, but as we've seen, that's why they play these games! Scoring first will probably be vital. Should be fun.
