Last night's game is a good illustration of why I'm finding it increasingly hard to pay attention to the D-backs - an early five-run deficit, followed by the team clawing their way back, only to succumb to another one-run loss. Few things are more galling to fans than a team that can't win the close ones, and Arizona has been absolutely terrible there. Our current record in one-run games - 11-24, a .314 win percentage - has been undercut by only a single National League team over the past twenty years (the 2006 Braves went 11-30). Add in seven consecutive losses to the Padres, and it's bordering on true "torture"...
Wailord on the recap, line-up after the jump.

- Aaron Hill 2B
- Jason Kubel LF
- Paul Goldschmidt 1B
- Miguel Montero C
- Justin Upton RF
- Chris Johnson 3B
- Jake Elmore SS
- Wade Miley P
Yep, that's Upton down in the sixth spot. That's the lowest position in the batting order he has started a game since hitting seventh on June 16, 2010. Maybe he's not well: Nick P reports Ryan Wheeler and Brad Bergesen are under the weather today - something nasty is clearly going around the clubhouse. [Insert Mike Zagurski reference here]
