Got a chance for our first sweep of the Padres in nine attempts, going back to August last season. A win today would still leave us with a losing record against them overall, but it's only be 8-10, which is a lot better than it looked like it would be, coming into the series with five wins. Thus far this year, we've done more than well enough against our rivals - Arizona are 33-28 against the NL West. It's the 14-20 record against the East which has been the bigger problem, having reached .500 or better only against the Marlins, and five games worse than we did last season. Sure be nice to have those five games about now.. But getting above .500 with victory would be a step.

soco on the recap, line-up for this afternoon's contest after the jump.

  1. Adam Eaton CF
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  5. Miguel Montero C
  6. Chris Johnson 3B
  7. Cody Ransom SS
  8. A.J. Pollock LF
  9. Tyler Skaggs P

Day game after a night game? No problem. For this will be Montero's eighteenth consecutive start for the Diamondbacks - the last time he wasn't in the opening line-up was August 29th.
