The Giants having beaten two of our three rookie left-handers in this series, it's up to Patrick Corbin to try and stop the sweep this afternoon. Though the largely lackluster play from the Diamondbacks offense over the past couple of games, if repeated, is likely as much an obstacle to victory, as anything on the pitching side. Be nice to avoid a sweep. Be nice to head back towards .500. Be nice keep ahead of the Padres in the battle to escape fourth place in the NL West. Man, remember back at the beginning of the season when we circled this series as a possibly deciding set between title contenders? How expectations have been changed....
grimmy01 is on the guest recap for this one, so looking forward to that. Line-up after the jump, and that's it as I'm being called to breakfast...
- Adam Eaton CF
- Aaron Hill 2B
- Justin Upton RF
- Miguel Montero C
- Paul Goldschmidt 1B
- Ryan Wheeler 3B
- Cody Ransom SS
- Gerardo Parra LF
- Patrick Corbin P
Hmm, definitely a Sunday afternoon, end of the season feel to this line-up, without Kubel (yeah...play him against a leftie like Zito yesterday, bench him against a right-handed pitcher. Genius!), Johnson or...whoever is our usual shortstop these day. I forget...
