Gameday Thread, #129: 8/27 vs. Reds

Bronson Arroyo
RHP, 10-7, 3.87

Tyler Skaggs
LHP, 1-0, 2.70

I'm now at the point where I have few expectations when I turn on the television set for a Diamondbacks game: I pretty much know that whatever happens will do so, and getting worked up about a team that will likely finish the season between one and five games over .500 [and probably only that because the last week of the season sees us face the Cubs and Rockies] is a waste of previous karma points, better saved for games down the road when the team will need it. There's still reasons to watch, of course - Skaggs being one of them - but don't expect to see concern regarding the team's performance in the recap tonight. It'll be what it'll be.

Does that sound apathetic and blase? I certainly hope so. Because after the apathetic and blase performances the Diamondbacks gave us over the weekend, that's about the level of interest they deserve going into this one. Sweep the Reds, Arizona, and prove me wrong. I dare you!

  1. Chris Young CF
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Jason Kubel LF
  4. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  5. Justin Upton RF
  6. Miguel Montero C
  7. Ryan Wheeler 3B
  8. Jake Elmore SS
  9. Tyler Skaggs

Keen to see what Skaggs does in his second outing, especially not having been able to see any of his debut at the time. I'm hoping to see all the good, but with fewer walks, as he settles down to the patten of life in the big leagues. The Reds line-up might be a little tougher than the Marlins one he faced first time out, so fingers crossed he can handle it.
