An interesting pitching match-up, not least because of Dave Cameron whining on Fangraphs over the weekend, in an article entitled Bauer and Cashner: An Object Lesson in Hype. In it, armed a with nicely-selective choice of minor-league numbers, he attempts to show that Cashner is a better "prospect" than Bauer. Yeah: comparing a guy who'll be 26 in a couple of months, and who lost his rookie eligibility in 2010, to a guy making his major-league debut, who'll be 21 until next January. I didn't realize Fangraphs were now reprinting Bleacher Report articles. Still, they're facing each other tonight, so we get to judge for yourself. If you can take 4 1/2 years off Cashner's age.

Clefo on the recap, line-up after the jump

  1. Stephen Drew SS
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Jason Kubel LF
  5. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  6. Miguel Montero C
  7. Chris Young CF
  8. Geoff Blum 3B
  9. Trevor Bauer.P

Drew gets his first home start of the year, and should get a warm welcome from the crowd. Actually, it's also Blum's first home start of the year too, as he only had three pinch-hit appearances at Chase before he hit the DL. Drew hitting leadoff, which should test his ankle if he gets on base, though one wonders how active he'll be out there. Be an interesting test.
