Olympic Opening Ceremony on TV tonight, so that will likely distract a good few people, even if it - happened about a geological epoch or so ago, in these Internet times, and everyone already knows the best bits. Still, will be watching it myself when I get home from work: seems Danny Boyle has gone for something quirkily eccentric rather than trying simply to out-spectacle the Chinese. Which is probably a very good idea. Hopefully, the D-backs bats will provide the fireworks before tonight's Olympics-themed pyrotechnics. Prefer that to last night's spectacle, re-enacting the Opening Ceremony for the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, with our bats playing the role of windmills...
