I snagged the intro table HTML from the series at Chase against the Mets in 2010, which also took place at the end of July - however, the situation then was rather different, with Tankapalooza 2010 in full effect. Man, we should really count our blessings this campaign, still being (faintly) in contention at this point: three months left in that season, and we were basically left cheering for losses. This year may have been disappointing, but there are still eight National League teams who'd be more than happy to swap places with us. And that'd include the Mets who, as ZM pointed out, have imploded of late.
Line-up and stuff after the jump.
- Gerardo Parra CF
- Aaron Hill 2B
- Jason Kubel LF
- Paul Goldschmidt 1B
- Justin Upton RF
- Miguel Montero C
- Stephen Drew SS
- Ryan Wheeler 3B
- Wade Miley P
Dammit, why couldn't Wheeler have got the start on Tuesday? We were all ready to yell "Good Wheeler!" at him from our seats six rows back from the on-deck circle, but not only didn't he start, John McDonald got to be the pinch-hitter instead. Next time.... We get to see the debut of the player rankes the Mets' #1 prospect before the season, so we trust our hitters will give him a warm-to-the-point-of-incendiary welcome. And if you're looking for something to read during the 40 mins before first pitch, I did a Q+A with our Mets sibling, Amazing Avenue.
