A little shy of four years since we last welcomed Oakland to Chase. Looking at the boxscore, of the 15 players Arizona used that day, only three are still with the organization, and one of those hasn't appeared for the D-backs this year, playing on a rehab assignment down in Tucson tonight instead [I'm hoping Clefo will bring us a report on that contest later, with Trevor Bauer starting]. Though we could perhaps add Brad Ziegler, since he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings that afternoon, only it was out of the visitors' bullpen. Conversely, Micah Owings, who PH'd for us in 2008, will be playing 1B for the Padres' Triple-A side down in Tucson.
I trust this is all adequately clear. If not, simply ignore it, and skip to the line-up after the jump. 'charmer has Tweeted in sick - hope she gets well soon - so I will pinch-recapping.

Yep, Upton's back. With a chip on his shoulder and something to prove, we hope, ready to take it out on the left-hander starter for Oakland. We won two of three the last time we faced Oakland in Arizona, and I'd be happy with that again. Hopefully, it'll go better than the home series prior, in 2001, when Mulder, Hudson and Zito swept us, holding the D-backs to a total of two runs.
