Joe Saunders
LHP, 3-3, 3.61

The Diamondbacks have a chance to win their third in a row today. It has been a while. The last time was April 29-May 1, against the Marlins and Nationals, which took our record to 13-11, a mere four games out. Ah, happy days. Since then, Arizona has won a mere dozen of the 30 contests in which they've been involved. Still, the only cure for that is a good winning streak - or better yet, a few of them. Friedrich hasn't exactly impressed: last time out, he got the W, despite allowing 11 hits and five runs, because the Rockies scored 12 runs in the six innings he was on the mound. I'm hoping Saunders does a little better this evening...

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  5. Chris Young CF
  6. Jason Kubel LF
  7. Ryan Roberts 3B
  8. Henry Blanco C
  9. Joe Saunders P.

No Miguel Montero, Blanco getting the start instead, as we see another left-hander. Young is back in the line-up with Parra sitting, even though both he and Miggy homered off a southpaw yesterday. Hey, it worked out okay yesterday, so #ingibbywetrust. Game will likely be well under way before we announce our draft-pick - it's moving at a fairly glacial pace so far. I hope you can sustain your excitement...
