As I write this, the Dodgers are about to get shut out by the Giants for the third game in a row - only the second NL team since 2004 to post zeroes against the same side over a trifecta of consecutive contests. This will also mean there is a tie at the top of the NL West, something which seemed inconceivable just one month ago, when Los Angeles were 7.5 games up. The almost entirely Kemp-less Dodgers are about to go 11-18 since that point, and who knows where they'll be by the time he comes back, after the All-Star break. Now, if the Giants offense can go back to blowing chunks as expected, we can get right back in this thing...

soco on the recap, line-up after the jump, but not much more. Rather a lot of other activity this afternoon...

  1. Gerardo Parra CF
  2. Stephen Drew SS
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Jason Kubel LF
  5. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  6. Miguel Montero C
  7. Aaron Hill 2B
  8. Ryan Roberts 3B
  9. Trevor Cahill.P

Yes. That's Stephen Drew back in the line-up, and it's good to see. While Bloomquist and McDonald have been excellent stand-ins, I've been waiting for them to implode like an undercooked quiche, and have a bit more faith in Drew's consistent performance. That won't, however, stop me from holding my breath the first time he has to run the bases, or go get a ball hit in the hole. Welcome back, Stephen. And no CY again either. Hmmm...
