Hard to top last night's game, in which Hill hit for the cycle: nothing less than a Hudson no-hitter will do. Oh, alright: I'd settle, somewhat grudgingly, for just another Diamondbacks victory, getting us back up to .500 - even though that has been a bit of a glass ceiling. Still, can't get above .500, without going through .500, at least until I complete development of my Standings Teleport device. Hopefully it'll be finished by the end of September, but I'm having issues with the flux capacitor. I think I need to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow, but ye canna change the laws of physics.

BattleMoses on the recap for this evening. Line-up after the jump: looks a bit platoonish tonight.

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Jason Kubel LF
  5. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  6. Miguel Montero C
  7. Josh Bell 3B
  8. Gerardo Parra CF
  9. Daniel Hudson P

Bell gets a third consecutive start; there has been some suggestion he's the kind of player that needs consistent appearances in order to get going. We'll see how true that is: he performed pretty well last night, though still has a long way to go to get his overall numbers up to an acceptable level. We may be seeing a true platoon here, Roberts having struggled against RHP, with a line of .226/.274/.296 this year. The same may be true for Chris Young, who sits in place of Parra: CY is hitting righties at just a .186 clip, compared to .325 for left-handers. Small sample size warning applies, of course.
